Florida Christmas

We were able to escape the northern snow and cold to Florida's sun, sand and surf for a long weekend.  Visiting family and some of our favorite spots was a super way to spend time together.

Herb's good friend blessed us with the "hook-up" at the Longboat Bay Club.  The Longboat Bay Club was great and Herb spotted some manatees (my favorite) right off the dock.  The room even had a full kitchen, so we were able to cook our favorite shrimp dish for Mama T, Lil' Nuke, Crina, TT and Tiny.  They all approved.  The night before we left, we even had pizza party/game night/karokee/Christmas gifts with the rest of our nieces and nephew.

The Longboat Bay Club had bikes that you could borrow.  Herb decided we would go on an adventure.  But he forgot to mention that the adventure would be a 13 mile bike ride along the key.  Just had to make it to the Ana Maria draw bridge!

We ate lunch twice at our favorite lil' bait shop.  The New Pass Bait Shop.  Good, cheap grub.  Oh, and beautiful scenery!

We also had a lunch date with Herb's sister Erica and cousin Langston in downtown Sarasota.  It was great to catch up with them and even talked them into coming to a football game next season!  Every time we see Herb's half sister, it is shocking to be how much they resemble each other!

Even though the trip was short, we had a great time and safe drive back.  After a quick stop to check on things at our Ohio home, we were off to Michigan Christmas Eve.
