The weekend was declared as the Miami University annual wives trip. Last year Minnesota and this year Idaho!
Early in the morning we traveled from Oxford on 4 buses to Dayton boarding the charted plane with our husbands (the coaches) and the players for the 3 1/2 hour flight to Boise. I couldn't help but think about potatoes and the funny saying "Idaho? No You Da Ho!"
After watching a couple movies on our i-pad and snacking on lunches, we arrived in sunny Boise. We loved the view of the mountains and desert as we landed. The temperatures were in the 80's. Our first destination was check-in at The Grove Hotel. Next was a visit to the Big Blue field at Boise State University to watch the Redhawks practice and prepare for tomorrow's big game.
Next, the wives let the boys do their thing - football practice, meetings, team dinner and movie.
We had our own agenda. Exploring the city of Boise, checking out a couple happy hour destinations and dinner at The Fork. I had Idaho Rainbow Trout and a Warm Butter Cake for dessert! It was delicious.
Kickoff was 2pm the next day. Herb was so sweet to bring me breakfast in bed while he was going to meetings and getting ready for game day. The ladies ventured out to a Miami Alumni tailgate and then off to the Boise State Broncos stadium. The atomosphere of the big game and the incredibly friendly people of Boise made the loss a little easier to handle.
