It's been a while!

Love following others blogs, so inspiring to see the way they document memories so as not to fade away.  Nevertheless, just can't seem to get a routine with mine!  I have not blogged in almost a year and only 8 entries in 3 years - pretty ridiculous!  It would be a book to go back and reflect, so instead I'm starting fresh.

Herb's birthday and the New Year 2011 was celebrated in Chicago.  We stayed at the Sheraton Towers downtown with a corner room view of the river, Lake Michigan, Navy Pier and lots more!  It was so nice to get away for a long weekend and focus on fun and friends, rather than the stresses of Herb's career uncertainty.

Herb's birthday was a fun, unexpected night.  We met up with an old college friend who lives just a couple blocks from the hotel.  He introduced us to some of his 'Chicago' friends and we spent the night celebrating 'Penthouse' style FOR REAL.  Todd's friend Mark had an amazingly modern Penthouse apartment with breathtaking views of the Chicago skyline at night.  I even had fun the 'powder room', trying to understand the function of a mirror about 4" inches wide and 4' foot tall????

The following day was spent recovering from a lil' too much fun the night before and watching college football.  We celebrated New Year's Eve at Shula's Steakhouse followed by a fun outing to Hop's House to countdown to 2011.

New Year's day was spent at Lincoln Park's Barleycorn (a famous MSU bar) with many of Herb's former teammates.  It was such an experience to walk into a bar that sported more green and white than any bar in downtown East Lansing.  Though MSU suffered a tough loss after an amazing season, it was still a fun, but long day.  I can honestly say I have never spent from 10am to 9pm at a bar - LONG LONG day.

We have so many stories from Chicago and look forward to what 2011 will bring!
