Another sunny weekend in Oxford, Ohio. March 2012 has brought LOTS of sunshine, 70-80 degree weather, spring football practice, lawn mowing, and mini skirts. Oh wait, I forgot mini skirts are a year round thing here at MU. Inside joke with Herbie. When we are out later in the evening and driving through Uptown, we count the mini skirts! It's almost like the school uniform after 9pm at night.
Friday night, we lost count at 30. We were driving back from West Chester after meeting Coach Spencer and his wife Toya at Jag's for some live music and wine. There was a seven piece band and they sang/played music like Alicia Keys, LMFAO, Mary J Blige and Nelly - fun night with great people watching. We especially loved the 70 year old lady trying to bump and grind on every man on the dance floor. Oh, and the lady who looked like she belonged on the reality show mob wives.
Saturday, I felt like a country club wife. Just kidding. I felt a like a coach's wife at the Oxford Country Club. Lola had a little lunch for the wives. There have been some changes on the coaching staff so now its a different mix of gals. We chatted, played a little get to know you game called Connections and enjoyed a delicious lunch.
Later in the day, we watched some March Madness basketball - Louisville (who knocked out MSU) vs. Kentucky. It was a close game, but KY pulled it out. After the game we were both in the mood for a sushi dinner. It was around 8pm and our first choice Sushi Nara in Oxford was PACKED. As we were standing at the doorway, Herb looked at me and said: What do you want to do? Me: It's very busy, where else do want to go? Herb: Let's go to Kentucky. As we were walking back the car, we were both chuckling because it just sounds so funny replayed in our mind. I work in MI, we live in OH and we're going to KY for dinner. So, Could Nine Sushi it was and we enjoyed 1/2 off sushi and the 2nd half of the Ohio State vs. Kansas game.
So after a great weekend, I've got the Sunday blues in anticipation of another 4 hour drive. But for now, cuddling on the couch with my Rocky boy and Herbie watching ESPN and HBO Real Sports, realizing that the stories are just as sappy as the Lifetime movie network!
